Rapid Prototyping

The team at P.A. Baines has extensive experience in rapid prototyping, from very intricate parts to larger-scale models. Very often our clients prefer to see new products in physical rather than virtual form. Using multi-dimensional computer-aided design (CAD) software we provide our clients with rapid prototyping capabilities without having to produce full scale production samples.

Once we have assisted in improving current or existing designed products, clients have access to our CNC machine centre or 3D printing lab which constructs rapid prototypes in either plastic and/or non ferrous and ferrous metals.

Advantages of Rapid Prototyping:

  • Faster and more cost-effective than constructing full-scale production models
  • Eliminates the cost and time need to develop special moulds
  • Minimizes waste
  • Produce parts of miniscule size and/or complex geometries
  • Provides a realistic three-dimensional design vs a computer screen image
  • Permits the identification of any design flaws prior to production
  • Design changes can be done without the need to modify the entire process
  • Easier testing – properties of the material closely resemble the final product
  • Changes can be made immediately

3D Precision Printing

P.A. Baines Precision Engineering provides a wide range of services that our customers can select from depending on cost or complexity. Apart from our extensive CNC centre’s capability, 3D printing is also available to our clients to run one-off parts or to test new concepts before manufacturing to scale. Combined expertise, a data driven software platform and the latest 3D printers ensures your parts are made right first time, every time.

Our engineering design service includes planning, assist in improving or enhancing existing designs and requirement advice, from initial ideas and sketches, to concept 3D designs and calculation and even fabrication detail drawings for components, products and equipment. The finished product can include drawings, bills of material, material specs and testing standards.

P.A. Baines Precision Engineering 3D printing technology can produce basic to complex design specifications, we offer fast delivery together with competitive pricing.

FDM 3D Printing

FDM (Fused Deposition Modelling) is best suited for low-cost prototyping, where form and fit are more important than function and aesthetics of the part.
